Long time ago in a study far far away (actually Missouri), Robert Heinlein wrote a eight page story idea that he didn’t ever develop into a novel. Fast forward twenty years and Spider Robinson is given the task of finishing a novel from an outline written by one of the great science fiction masters. Joel Johnston is forced to flee the Earth on a colony ship that will take 20 years to reach it’s destination. While he whittles away his time trying to figure out where his life is going dramatic events take place back home changing the future of mankind. Unfortunately the book comes to a conclusion well before an actual conclusion. I’m not sure a sequel was ever written or intends to be, but I’ll wait and see.
